4.    Monkeypox Virus Shows Potential to Infect a Diverse Range of Native Animal Species Across Europe, Indicating High Risk of Becoming Endemic in the Region

From Geert: This is typical human behavior: blame it on the animals! Although the authors acknowledge that monkeypox virus (MPV) has persisted via human-to-human transmission, they don't seem to be bothering about the reason for such rapid human-to-human transmission. Instead they concentrate on rodents and foxes that ''have established interactions with potentially contaminated urban waste and sewage” to explain why spillback events may turn these animals into reservoirs of MPV. That may certainly be the case, but wouldn't it be wise to first investigate why humans in highly vaccinated countries seem to serve as reservoirs? Why does nobody investigate a potential link with large scale C-19 vaccination campaigns in those countries?

5.    CDC: Human Monkeypox Without Viral Prodrome or Sexual Exposure, California, USA, 2022

From Geert: Can you believe the report doesn't even state whether this person was C-19 vaccinated or not??? I tend to disagree with the following statement of the author:

"The lack of both sexual exposure and anogenital involvement indicates that mode of transmission may be associated with clinical symptoms".

Detection of virus in nasopharyngeal samples and saliva do not rule asymptomatic transmission upon close contact. This patient reported numerous close, nonsexual contacts with unknown persons, none of whom had skin lesions; in addition, he had such close contacts over 4 days during a series of outdoor events.

One can, therefore, not rule out that this patient got exposed to a high dose of MPV shed by an asymptomatic carrier; As already suggested, vaccinees in highly vaccinated countries (e.g., UK) are  likely to serve as asymptomatic carriers for MPV(https://www.voiceforscienceandsolidarity.org/scientific-blog/monkeypox)

6.    India Experiencing Uptick in Swine Flu Cases
