With regard to the Wollinsky item; how can these unelected bureaucrats be allowed to stonewall elected officials? The system is beyond fixing if someone like this can act with impunity, be responsible for trillions of dollars of damage and the death and destruction of countless people, and just ignore the elected authorities.
I happened to catch Ken Burns' documentary "The Gene" recently. It was released in early 2020. One of its highlights included the Chinese scientist who, in 2019, genetically modified twin girls. I remember when this happened, but I had forgotten what his modification was for. When I was reminded of it, my antennae really started buzzing...the modification was to protect the girls from developing AIDS. Incredible coincidence or what???
